The sales and marketing team here at Westwood is growing!

We’re looking for a marketing executive to join our Faversham based team working across our whole OFS (oilfield services), E&A (exploration & appraisal) and renewables portfolio.

The Westwood Global Energy Group is one of the leading consultancy and market research firms operating in the oil and gas market today. Our founding companies have been around for over 25 years and supported with strong private equity backing. We’re one of the very few companies in this space that have been expanding during 2017 with recent acquisitions including a ground-breaking Houston based research firm.

Role summary

The role works to support the oilfield services/exploration & appraisal research teams and drive product awareness, leads and sales by:

• Creating and managing marketing content output across all media channels
• Supporting the planning, implementing and marketing of house events
• Marketing communications for a portfolio of reports (20+), services and corporate
• Reviewing and planning industry event attendance and published media
• Maintenance of marketing contact databases
• Market research into current and new areas of interest

Our Faversham team sits at the core of our research output and you’ll be no exception.
A highly visible role, you’ll be working alongside the Head of Sales & Marketing as well as directly with the analyst team you’ll have the unique opportunity to help shape our marketing output, increase lead generation and have first-hand contact with products and end users.

About you

You should have an inquisitive mind, attention to detail and be a fast learner. As with any marketing role you’ll need to be organised and process orientated to be able to manage multiple campaigns and tasks. You will also have successfully completed a relevant marketing qualification and be able to demonstrate knowledge, understanding and application of marketing systems and media.

Experience working in a b2b marketing role for a market research or consultancy based company is ideal but your ability to understand the basic purpose and solutions of the products and services we deliver more so.

It is essential that you have a very strong grasp of written communication and the ability to convey a message in a concise but powerful manner.

An outgoing personality, who doesn’t take themselves too seriously you should be able to converse with colleagues, peers and clients on all levels.

Researcher/Analyst – Faversham

You would work as part of a small team in Douglas-Westwood’s Faversham (Kent) office assisting with the production of published market studies on a variety of energy sectors. Your role would be to conduct primary and secondary research on markets and companies, the outputs of which are used to develop market models to analyse supply, demand, pricing and investment trends for an international client base. The work involves the collation, examination and checking of data through internet research and telephone communication with industry participants. We require an enthusiastic and dedicated personality and you will preferably have a numerical-based background. Excellent analytical, written and verbal communication skills are essential and previous educational or professional experience within the industry is advantageous.

Other key skills include:

  • Knowledge of Excel and most importantly, formulae and data manipulation
  • Mathematically minded – logical thinking and problem solving ability essential
  • Access database knowledge preferable but not essential
  • Fluent writing ability in the English language
  • Multiple languages are a plus
