Researcher

You would work as part of a small team in Douglas-Westwood’s Faversham (Kent) office assisting with the production of published market studies on a variety of energy sectors. Your role would be to conduct primary and secondary research on markets and companies, the outputs of which are used to develop market models to analyse supply, demand, pricing and investment trends for an international client base. The work involves the collation, examination and checking of data through internet research and telephone communication with industry participants. We require an enthusiastic and dedicated temperament and you will preferably have a numerical-based background. Excellent analytical, written and verbal communication skills are essential and previous educational or professional experience within the industry is advantageous.

Other key skills include:

  • Knowledge of Excel and most importantly, formulae and data manipulation
  • Mathematically minded – logical thinking and problem solving ability essential
  • Access database knowledge preferable but not essential
  • Fluent writing ability in the English language
  • Multiple languages are a plus

 

 

Data Researcher

You would work as part of a small team to assist with the collation, integration, verification and analysis of data relating to the upstream oil & gas industry. Your role would be to conduct primary and secondary research on offshore oil & gas development projects and to perform data cleansing and verification on existing data. The data would be used as critical inputs into a new suite of global offshore forecasting tools used to support Douglas-Westwood’s worldwide research and consulting practice. The work primarily involves the collation, examination and checking of data through both desktop research and interaction with industry participants.

We require an enthusiastic and dedicated temperament and you will preferably have a numerical-based background. We are looking for highly efficient and motivated individuals with a critical focus on detail and accuracy. Communication skills are essential and previous educational or professional experience within the industry is advantageous. The position is based in Faversham, Kent.

  • Knowledge and prior use of Access and/or other database systems
  • Knowledge of Excel
  • Keen eye for detail and ability to work as part of a small team
